We've been running our free Fly Fishing 101 every weekend in summer for fifteen years. Plus a women's program, casting clinics, and knot workshops. Most are free or low cost.

Free Fly Fishing 101

Free · no commitment

Every Saturday · 10am · June through September

Forty-five minutes in the shop covering rod assembly, basic casting mechanics, and reading water. Then a walk down to the Blue for an actual cast. No equipment needed. No commitment to book a trip.

Women's Learn-to-Fly-Fish

Free · run by Sarah Barclay

Second Saturday of each month · 9am · June through September

A no-pressure introduction to fly fishing for women, run by senior guide Sarah Barclay. Two hours, includes gear, includes time on the water, includes coffee. Sign up by calling the shop.

Casting Clinic

$50 · gear included

Sundays in June · 1pm · two-hour session

For people who can fish a little but want their casting cleaned up. Tight loops, line management, the basics done right. Two hours on a casting pond two minutes from the shop.

Knots & Rigging Workshop

$25 · materials included

First Wednesday of the month · 6pm · year-round

A 90-minute hands-on workshop in the shop. Six knots, three nymph rigs, dry-dropper, indicator setup. Bring your own rod or use ours. The class fills fast in summer.

Most classes don't require sign-up. Walk in. The exceptions are the women's program and the knots workshop. Both fill fast.
